Advanced Placement (AP) classes are college-level courses offered in high school, designed to challenge students with rigorous academic material and prepare them for higher education. AP courses allow students to earn college credit or advanced placement in college if they score well on the AP exams. Taking AP classes helps students build critical thinking and time management skills, enhance their college applications, and potentially save money on college tuition by reducing the number of courses needed after high school.
Classes Available:
-
AP Literature & Composition
-
AP Language & Composition
-
AP Calculus AB
-
AP World History: Modern
-
AP US History
Students in AP Courses have the option to complete the Advanced Placement Exam for the class, usually given in the Spring Semester. Students will need to attend in-person on the determined date in order to complete the exam.
Dual Credit Classes
Dual Credit Classes through Rio Salado
Aspire offers several Dual Credit classes in parternship with Rio Salado Community College. Dual credit classes allow high school students to earn both high school and college credits simultaneously by completing college-level courses. These programs give students a head start on their higher education journey, reducing the time and cost of earning a college degree. Dual credit courses also expose students to the rigor of college academics, helping them build confidence, develop strong study habits, and explore potential career interests before graduating from high school.
