Class Homepage
Art at Aspire is an exciting hybrid experience! All lessons are available on Canvas, and every Thursday from 1:00 - 3:30 PM, our K-8 students get the chance to gather in person at the Innovation Center. This time is perfect for working on weekly assignments or pursuing personal artistic goals through their portfolios.
I encourage each student to discover their unique artistic spark! At the Innovation Center, we provide a vibrant space filled with various materials to fuel your creativity.
Be sure to check out the links for class expectations, art supplies, and our fabulous online art gallery on Artsonia! Let's make some magic together!
Aspire Online Art Gallery
Aspire has an online art gallery at Artsonia. Check out this amazing student artwork here: Aspire's Artsonia Gallery
This is an online art gallery space for our artists to share their work and for fans to follow. Families can also purchase items with their favorite artists' work! 20% of all purchases come back to Aspire to purchase art materials for our artists and in-person art classes.
Class Expectations
K-8 Art
1- Review your modules before our class zooms.
2- Make lots of ugly pictures (yes...I mean that - it takes a lot of time and energy to improve art skills)
3 - Turn work in on time!!! Make sure you watch DUE dates and CLOSE dates. Every assignment will stay open for two weeks after the due date to allow for corrections and resubmissions.
3- Be kind and respectful (especially to yourself when you're making art)
4- Don't be afraid to ask questions through Zoom or Canvas. I am here for you and love it when you ask for help.
5- Find a quiet area in your home, preferably with a table or desk of sorts. I also recommend using headphones and having a special space for you to be creative.
How to Get Ready for Art Class!
Bring a sense of curiosity, hunger for learning, and patience. Having headphones, pencil, and paper with you for each lesson would be helpful. If any additional materials are needed, that lesson will tell you!
- Preview your weekly lessons BEFORE you log onto Zoom to prepare. Print out or have drawing guides ready to go!
- Find a space to work with all of your art materials ready! Ensure you have your technology ready - Chromebooks charged, headphones working, and all materials needed for your lesson.
- Check your surroundings. You don't want to distract other family members in the room, they may also be working!
- Wear appropriate clothing, you are expected to be on the camera at all times for the duration of the Zoom class.
Zoom Rules:
- Log in a few minutes before class so we can get started on time.
- When joining a video call, make sure your camera is ON and your microphone is off.
- Use school-appropriate backgrounds. Everyone should have the opportunity to focus and be attentive and distracting backgrounds will not help.
- Make sure you raise your hand to ask a question, or you can type your question in the chat box.
- Talk as clearly as possible. Some devices or headphones do not have the best microphones, so it can sometimes be hard to understand if you don't speak clearly!
- Be kind and respectful online, on Zoom, and with your peers.

About the Teacher
Hello there! I'm Ms. Camille Obert-Goralski, but you can call me Ms. G. With 19 years of teaching in Deer Valley under my belt, I bring a wealth of experience and a passion for creativity to the classroom. Before diving into the world of education, I was a computer trainer and website designer, which gives me a unique tech-savvy edge in my teaching.
In my role, I have the joy of teaching K-8 Visual Arts and guiding high school students in Advanced Study Skills, 2D Design & Photography, and Communications. My academic journey includes a B.A. in Communications, with double minors in Visual Arts and Women's Studies, and an M.A. Ed. in Secondary Education with a technology focus. I'm proud to be a highly qualified K-12 teacher in visual arts, communications, ELA, and technology.
One of my special talents is being a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT). Zentangle is a meditative drawing technique that promotes relaxation, and it's one of my favorite ways to unwind. If you're intrigued by Zentangle, click HERE to learn more.
Outside of teaching, my passions include art, dogs, gardening, and travel. I love sharing stories from my global adventures to inspire my students and ignite their wanderlust. Among all the places I've visited, Egypt stands out as my favorite.
Here's to a year filled with creativity, learning, and exciting discoveries!
